The Philippi Convention and Tourist Bureau recently presented a framed Philippi Covered Bridge print to the owner of Cold Cuts Barbershop, Caden Price, as part of its ongoing tradition of welcoming new enterprises to Philippi’s business community.

Prior to attending barber school, Price spent two years at the Fred Eberle Technical Institute in Buckhannon studying cosmetology. Price stated that he chose to start his barber shop in Philippi after realizing that the town had been without a barber shop for many years, and he wanted to assist the community meet this need. When customers are in the barber chair, the new barber says he learns a great deal about his customers and the neighborhood. Frequently, customers visit the store for no other reason.
The new barbershop offers creative cuts, straight razor shaves, and standard cuts. Although the majority of Price’s clientele are male, he also offers feminine cuts. All of his clients are walk-ins since he does not accept appointments.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The store is located at 21 Mill Street in the huge gray building directly across Sheetz.
