The Perrine Winery in College Station is planning a special Earth Day celebration. Saturday is the holiday, which promotes environmental health and outdoor recreation. Beth Perrine Leopard and Rick Leopold, the proprietors of the winery, will celebrate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with wine, refreshments, and alpacas.
Rick Leopold stated, “There is no one more connected to the earth than agricultural producers, which is why we wanted to highlight some agricultural production here.” Obviously, we use agricultural products on a daily basis, so this is a nice tie-in.
This is the couple’s first Earth Day celebration at the winery. Beth Perrine Leopard stated that including alpacas is a concept they observed years ago and wish to revive. Alpacas will be transported from Peeka Ranch in Burton.
The Earth Day festivities at Perrine Winery include wine and alpacas.
Beth Perrine Leopold remarked, “We sincerely hope it will be a lot of fun.” Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing some adorable alpacas.
Guests will be able to obtain a glass of wine or an adult slushie before visiting the alpacas. On-site, there are fifty wines, and at least nine will be featured during the event. These include dessert wines, dry reds, dry whites, and wines infused with citrus.
On Saturday, these can be savored with food from Originz Barbeque. The proprietor Dustin Recek and his staff will serve breakfast and supper. In addition to sides and desserts, the menu includes breakfast tacos, ribs, brisket, sausage, and poultry.
College Station’s Perrine Winery will celebrate Earth Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1405 North Dowling Road. Tickets can be purchased here for $17 each. After the event, the winery will resume normal operating hours.
Additional upcoming events at the winery include the Flea Market on the Green on May 6 and the Pig Roast & Craft Market on the Green on May 13.
