This week, just prior to a recent meeting of the Dunkirk municipality Board, an explanation was provided to those who had been wondering what was happening near the former Tops location in the municipality of Dunkirk.
The municipality of Dunkirk’s Code Enforcement Officer, Ryan Mourer, stated via text message that the ongoing construction was for the vestibule of a future Five Below store. By conveying Mourer’s message, Dunkirk Town Deputy Clerk Kyle Coughlin confirmed the suspicions of several board members prior to the meeting.
The aforementioned structure is owned by Benderson Development. It is adjacent to the Harbor Freight Quality Tools store on Vineyard Drive in the former Tops plaza, across the street from the new Tops location, Kirk’s Jewelers, and other local businesses.
Five Below is a discount retailer specializing in products costing $5 or less. The nearest Five Below location is currently in Hamburg. Also nearby are Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Lockport, and Erie, Pennsylvania.
