Carole Bamford, the wife of JCB chairman Anthony Bamford, came up with the idea of presenting over 8,500 special hampers to JCB and agency employees in the UK to commemorate the historic occasion.
The commemorative gift baskets include two Coronation mugs, shortbread, mints, and loose-leaf tea in commemorative containers, all designed by the renowned artist and illustrator Hugo Guinness.
To ensure that employees receive their gifts in time for the festivities, a massive distribution operation has been launched, with the majority of deliveries beginning as early as 4 a.m. on Friday when nightshift employees conclude work.
Wrexham JCB workforce celebrated the Coronation with a present.
The presentation of presents concludes a week of Coronation celebrations at JCB, including at JCB Transmissions in Wrexham, where thousands of employees have participated in a companywide street festival. Over the span of four days, JCB provided employees with a two-course celebration lunch featuring classic British cuisine served on traditional street party trestle tables.
Lord Bamford stated, “JCB has a long legacy of commemorating important events in our nation’s history. The Coronation will be a truly memorable event, and I am pleased to be able to commemorate the occasion with a gift from our family to our employees.”
Financial controller Chet Tanna, who has worked for JCB for thirty years, remarked, “It’s an incredibly generous act by the Bamford family. I can’t fathom many other companies commemorating this historic event in such a magnificent manner.”
